About

Creating Awareness and Healing

I’m a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary and School of Psychology. I have been providing counseling for the past 20 years to a broad range of people. I am committed to helping my clients gain a better understanding of themselves and their emotions so that they can heal from past hurts and learn to be more compassionate with themselves. I work hard to understand each person's experience and to provide a safe place for healing. When working with individual clients I use a supportive, client-centered approach that integrates a variety of theories and interventions to help best meet each person's needs. I believe we have all learned ways of relating and coping that have helped us navigate through our relationships and struggles to the best of our awareness. As we grow, some of these strategies can hinder us from experiencing the world in a fully integrated, healthy way. Through counseling you can make sense of how you interact with the world and learn new, healthy ways to engage, to disrupt old patterns, and to gain a greater sense of yourself. In addition to working with individuals, I specialize in couples counseling. I am passionate about helping people with their most intimate relationships because I know what a huge impact these relationships have on one's quality of life. I have extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy which I use to help couples overcome the distance and hurts that develop between them so that they can become intimately connected to each other and better respond to each other's needs. One of the most important aspects of successful therapy is the relationship between the client and the therapist. For this reason, it is important that both you and I feel that the professional relationship is a good fit. If you believe I might be a good fit for this important journey, please reach out to me. I'm eager to hear from you and explore how I might be able to help you grow.
